Carol Blakeley, from Lanark Grammar School, presents a first aid kit to the Headmaster of a Primary School. It has been possible to buy this kit due to the incredible generosity of the pupils and staff at Lanark. 

WE URGENTLY NEED:

• Sponsors for the many children waiting in our files, so that they can be assisted to attend school and, thereby, be self-supporting later in life. Some, of necessity, especially secondary school children, need to attend a boarding school many miles from home. This also applies, particularly, to the children at the Primary School for the Deaf, which is one of only a very few schools for the deaf in Kenya, and draws pupils from a wide radius.
  
  
• Helpers who will assist us with finding sponsors, (friends, colleagues, etc.), and fund raisers who are happy to hold sponsored events on our behalf.
  
  
• Donors who will donate funds for buying cows, water tanks, house refurbish-ment, mattresses, mosquito nets, medical supplies and many other items for the families who are still on our waiting list. If you would like to make a general donation towards our work, to be used at our discretion, this will be so gratefully received. Each year the community is treated to a Christmas party, with a fizzy drink and bread for every child, plus bags of food for the grannies to take home to feed their grandchildren. They often receive other gifts at this time, such as a new mattress, a mosquito net, school uniform, soap and other essentials. All this is only made possible by the generosity of donors and sponsors.
  
  
• Team workers who would like to spend their holidays working at a school, helping with various projects and teaching the children new skills.
  
  
• Schools or projects who would like to 'twin' with a similar type of school or project in Kenya, including pen friends for the children and holding sponsored events in aid of their chosen school or project.
